The Hotel:
A grotesque and surreal story about the hardest choice of existentialism: to live meaningfully. Mersault works as head waiter at the city's most prestigious hotel. He is a slave to the habit of seemingly meaningless routines, so when he one day finds the hotel owner dead, he decides to continue running the hotel as if nothing had happened. When Mersault dismembers the deceased owner's body and serves the meat to the unsuspecting guests, it is only the first link in a chain of meaningful, bloody coincidences.
Serfdom:
Stavnsbånd is a small, intense novel about manipulation, self-harm, and how much one is willing to sacrifice for great love. For who can you trust when there are only two people in a claustrophobic relationship, and no one has a monopoly on the truth?
Waves – or eight notes from the stands:
During Covid-19, football stadiums around the world were shut down. But the traditional Danish division clubs were, miraculously, allowed to remain open. Here, Jonas Villumsen found refuge from an overwhelming global situation and rediscovered his love for a sport and a community that often drowns in million-dollar contracts, corruption, and slave-like conditions at the elite level. Villumsen documents the quiet Danish national spirit with witty and affectionate atmospheric portraits from the local green turf, where even the uninitiated get a special insight into a Sunday sanctuary.
Aprosalypse:
A grey-zone tale about losing one's footing in a world that rotates around the axis of madness. A kaleidoscopic journey from the inner space to the outer through shattered sentences, disillusionment, illness, destroyed landscapes, and cosmological heat death. Amidst all the darkness, small cracks of hope and acceptance emerge, and the book can thus be read as a novella, short prose, and a stoic self-help manual.
Bebop Baby
A poetry collection that portrays the transition from being one's own person to becoming a mother to another human being. A tightrope walk between birth and death, a balancing act between selfish drive and self-erasing care. For what does it mean to be a mother when you have lost your own?
The Thirsty Land
We find ourselves on the edge of the world. Mythological creatures fight for survival in a poetic and merciless race against the sun. In this work, nature gets its own beautiful and strange voice as individual elements and words are replaced by iconography that the reader must decode. *The Thirsty Land* is a pastiche consisting solely of quotes taken from the David Attenborough documentary Africa.
